Authentication

Your account and your API key have different jobs.

API in development

These guides describe the planned integration. There is no operational Pomerai base URL or confirmed model list yet. The examples configure a client; they do not make a model request.

Account authentication

Clerk handles account registration and sign-in when configured. Signing in establishes your identity; it does not grant a paid plan, a balance or model access.

API authentication

The future API will use a Pomerai API key, supplied through api_key in Python or apiKey in JavaScript. A Clerk session token or an OpenAI key is not a substitute. Key creation is not available yet.

Keep your key on the server

Store secrets in environment variables. Never commit them, paste them into public code, or expose them through client-side JavaScript. The separate backend will enforce usage and payment requirements.
